The SOC is proud to partner with HydroFlex to bring you the 2019 Underwater Camera Operating workshop. This workshop is designed for working professionals and offers three different course levels based on your proficiency.

Due to popular demand, we have added a second weekend of our Underwater Camera Operating Workshop. Registration spots are extremely limited so act fast if you want to participate!

Advanced- Week 2

The advanced operating is for working camera operators that have ample experience above and below water.  This group will work directly one on one with Pete Romano, ASC. This group is limited in size to ten and must be scuba certified.  There will be an opportunity to shoot an underwater scene and keep the content.

Intermediate - Week 2

The second participant tier is for intermediate camera operators, that have experience above water and somewhat limited below.  This group will work with the supporting expert instructors and have time with Pete Romano, ASC.  This group is limited in size to ten and must be scuba certified. There will be an opportunity to shoot an underwater shoot and keep the content.

Camera Assistant - Week 2

The third tier is designed for Camera Assistants, and is focused on camera prep, underwater housing and 1AC for underwater production.  This group will work directly with the expert instructors and will not be diving. This group is limited to fifteen.

  • What equipment is necessary and/or good to have with you
  • Dive gear choices and situations
  • Setting up a shot
  • Communication with the surface
  • Body movement
  • Working with different sized housing
