SOC’s Member Mix–Up’s Part 2: Building a Career as an “A” Camera Operator Without Steadicam

Join SOC membership for these casual, virtual and in-person gatherings. Each Member Mix-Up will be hosted by members and feature a theme or topic of their choice.

While Steadicam is an essential tool for filmmaking, being a Steadicam operator is not a requirement for being an “A” camera operator.

This two-day event is a combination of discussion, hands on gear training, and member Mix – Up’s, all regarding this concept of being a non-Steadicam “A” camera operator.

SOC Hosts: Mitch Dubin, SOC, Don Devine, SOC & Dan Gold, SOC

Registration is open to SOC members of all categories in good standing with the ability to bring one guest. Space is limited, please be courteous to your fellow members and only register if you can attend.

Part 2 – In-Person

Date: Saturday, September 23, 1:00pm – 5:00pm PST

For Part 2, we will gather at the SOC offices, Burbank, CA for a Member Mix-Up.

Participants can ask any remaining questions to our panelists, about the previous days panel discussion. We will also have at the facility a NODO wheels training set-up, traditional geared heads and a Ronin 2 with Black Arm setup, giving participants at the event an opportunity to sharpen their skills on the wheels and remote heads.

Think relaxed and informal . . . hanging out with fellow members while chatting about career, gear and other hot topics. Bring your own snacks and drinks (and some to share) to liven the mood!​
